Digging Deeper | Living the Resurrection
A simple, practical way to live out the truths from this week’s magazine.
Dear Friends,
In this week’s Just Between Us magazine, Shelly Esser reminded us that even when we were still sinners, Christ demonstrated His deep, sacrificial love for us through the cross. If you haven’t had a chance to read the issue yet, you can catch up here:

As we approach Easter Sunday, this is the perfect time to reflect on what Christ’s death and resurrection truly mean for our everyday lives. The cross isn’t just a symbol of suffering—it’s a display of perfect love and victory. And because of the resurrection, we’re not left in sorrow or defeat…we are invited to live a new life, full of purpose, peace, and power.
Today, let’s dig deeper into what it means to live a resurrection-shaped life—one that remembers the cross, celebrates the empty tomb, and walks forward in daily devotion.

Embrace 3 Biblical Truths
Easter doesn’t end with a sunrise service or a joyful worship chorus. The resurrection is meant to shape how we live every single day. So what does it look like to live as people of the resurrection? Here’s a deeper look at three biblical truths—and how you can embrace them right now:
1. The Cross Was Personal—So Is the Resurrection
Jesus didn’t just die for the world—He died for you. His love is not abstract or distant. When we remember the cross, we remember that Jesus bore your wounds, your shame, and your sin… so you could be set free.
Scripture:
"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." — Romans 5:8
Reflect:
Do you believe Jesus died specifically for you?
What would change if you lived every day remembering that you are deeply loved by your risen Savior?
2. Resurrection Means You’re Not Stuck in the Past
Because of Jesus’ resurrection, your story isn’t over. You are not defined by your failures, pain, or limitations. Resurrection life means transformation, newness, and the freedom to become who God created you to be.
Scripture:
"If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" — 2 Corinthians 5:17
Reflect:
What “old” parts of your life do you need to release?
Where is God inviting you to step into newness?
3. We Don’t Just Celebrate Easter—We Live It
Resurrection isn’t just for Sunday. The power that raised Christ from the dead is alive in you (Romans 8:11). That means hope when you feel hopeless, strength when you feel weak, and peace when life is chaotic.
Scripture:
"I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of His resurrection and participation in His sufferings..." — Philippians 3:10
Reflect:
Where do you need to experience resurrection power this week?
How can you carry Easter with you into ordinary days?
Death Was Arrested | North Point InsideOut
This powerful song celebrates the victory we have through the resurrection of Jesus. It reminds us that because of the cross, “our shame was a ransom He faithfully bore,” and now we walk in freedom and grace. Let this song fill your heart with joy this Easter and help you celebrate the truth that when Jesus rose, death was arrested—and our new life began.
Jesus, thank You for showing Your love so clearly on the cross. When I forget how deeply I’m loved, remind me of the empty tomb. Help me live in the power of Your resurrection every day—with purpose, with courage, and with faith. Let my life reflect Your hope and love in a world that desperately needs both. In Your victorious name I pray, Amen.
✅ Faith in Action: Living Easter Every Day
This week, don’t let Easter pass as just a date on the calendar. Instead, live with the joy, power, and purpose the resurrection brings. One step of faith, one act of love, one moment of surrender—that’s living the resurrection.
