Digging Deeper | Your Identity in Christ
A practical reflection to help you apply the message from this week’s magazine.
Dear Friends,
In this week’s magazine, we explored God’s incredible ability to take what feels broken or discarded and transform it into something beautiful. We also looked at how God’s truth helps us fight the lies that whisper we’re not enough.
This Digging Deeper issue is all about embracing your Identity in Christ—seeing yourself as chosen, loved, and set apart for His purposes. Why is that so hard for us to remember?
Perhaps it is because our world gives us many different ways to define ourselves. Let’s look instead at ourselves with a different viewpoint, one that reflects God.
Encouraging You in God’s Truth,
Reflecting God’s Truth About You
In this Digging Deeper, let’s reflect on the truth that we are God’s child and focus on how we can live that out (and help others do the same).
1. You Are Chosen and Loved
It’s easy to measure our worth by accomplishments, appearance, or the opinions of others. But Scripture reminds us that God’s perspective is different. You are His beloved, chosen before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4). That’s not just a nice thought—it’s truth you can hold onto when insecurity whispers lies.
Reflect: In what areas of your life do you most long for approval, and how might resting in God’s unconditional love free you from striving?
